The 2007 election campaigns make interesting reading also.

Fine Gael were advocating very much the same as Fianna Fáil, but with more in terms of continued expansion of government expenditure, adding to the myth that there is something for everyone in the audience and social welfare is a valid career choice.

There will always be people who are genuine cases, and attempts to bring some sanity to welfare are periodically met by media parades of examples of these cases. Fair is fair, you need to look at your own industry also!
