UN is failing Somalia

UNITED Nations peacekeepers are currently deployed in 16 countries across four continents, yet none has been sent to Somalia, where 4 million lives are at risk from starvation.

Everyone agrees that the threat of violence from terrorist and criminal gangs is preventing food getting through to the hungry, yet the UN still sees no reason to send in the peacekeepers.

Has the UN so easily forgotten how its failure to act cost one million lives in Rwanda?
