We must give more aid to help Africa

IT’S a crying shame that there’s so much wealth in the world and yet, hundreds of thousands in Somalia are dying presently everyday of hunger.

To see these people on our TV screens, frail and weak and carrying their babies and walking for miles on end to get to food distribution centres is truly heartbreaking.

Now is not the time for reprehensions concerning the political system in that country. Rather, Ireland, despite our present woes, must increase the amount of aid we’re giving these people right now. Tomorrow will be too late.
