Progressive politics

Progressive politics

When he says that he believes that you now “vote for whomever you choose to vote for” he is ignoring the fact that at present the candidates are chosen for us by an insider group in each political party. At present over 80% of these are men with the consequent nearly 90%-male Dáil. Proposals to increase the number of women candidates seem progressive and would make the Dáil more representative.
