Neil’s beautiful noise

NEIL DIAMOND at The Aviva last Saturday night was truly a “beautiful noise”. Some 50,000 plus people arrived for the concert from the four corners of the country by car and coaches.

Disappointingly, though, despite an announcement that smoking was prohibited in the stadium, many still smoked. I think they just didn’t realise the awful consequences a fire would have had in such an enclosed area with so many people present.

Also, there was a lot of alcohol consumed and there was an awful lot of walking about the place. Finally, I say, the stage was, in my opinion, far too low and should have been lit up right from the start, for the tens of thousands of us who weren’t lucky enough to have ring-side seating.
