CONGRATS to Maureen O’Hara on her award from the US Marine Corps (News, June 22).

The headline indicated the marines were part of the US Army. It is not, never has been. It is aligned with the US Navy, and is a separate service, as are the air force, navy and coast guard. Also, marines are called marines, not soldiers.
