Sex workers at risk
Had you chosen to quote from a Swedish sex worker affected by the policy, a very different view would have emerged.
In numerous studies they report that a primary effect of the law is that they now have less time to assess the safety of a client before accepting a transaction.
This exposes them to a greater risk of violence from dangerous clients.
Another effect is to move prostitution indoors where it is harder for social services — including those like Ruhama — to reach them.
