Henhouse guard

I READ with bemusement that Mr Pat Cox is joining FG with a view to running for the presidency on behalf of that party.

Given Mr Cox’s PD pedigree and strongly pro-EU leanings I wonder if the Irish people would consider it wise to leave a Cox guarding the henhouse?
