Alcohol is the most abused drug in Ireland

AFTER reading the article by Jennifer Hough called “Critically ill breaking law by using cannabis for pain relief” (June 6), I felt that the statement made about cannabis being the most abused drug in Ireland to be very false and quite misleading, in my opinion.

Through different groups I follow online and other articles I have read, I have learned that in fact there has never been a death recorded whose cause was cannabis.

In fact, you would have to smoke approx 300 joints a day to die and at that, you would die of carbon monoxide poisoning and not actually from the drug itself.
