No wealth of talent

RICHARD D BARTON calls dealing with the issue of the under-representation of women in the Dáil “insanity” and reduces discussion on this topic to “hormones and dresses”.

We are not talking about “hormones and dresses”.

We are talking about our representative democracy with the nearly 90% male Dáil as its supreme decision-making forum.

It is not as if we had a surfeit of talent among the nearly 90% male parliament. The bankrupt country is evidence of that.
