Action needed to fix town seashore

ON the May 28, it will be a year to the day since signs were erected forbidding entry to a part of Youghal around the vicinity of the lighthouse that is used for bathing and also the viewing area that is essentially a lovely spot along the seashore.

In that year it appears to the untrained eye that nothing has been done regarding the remedial work that’s apparently needed before the area is opened again. It would seem very simple to solve. Fix the footpath and the viewing area. The footpath is surely easily done and if there is a problem with the viewing area why not just knock it and build a wall.

Youghal has a stunning beach and an abundance of excellent views. I am deeply annoyed, frustrated and disappointed with the authorities in charge of the town to allow some of the best areas to go to ruin.
