County putting us on the road to ruin

I HAVE recently spent a week touring by car through the midlands to Donegal and Northern Ireland.

County putting us on the road to ruin

I was pleasantly surprised at the conditions and maintenance roads in comparison to the way the roads are maintained in Co Cork. Having travelled to Kerry last week via Ballymakeera and Ballyvourney, Co Cork, I made a complaint to gardaí about the very dangerous conditions that exist on this section of road.

In mid-February I complained to the Cork County Council manager again about the appalling conditions that exist on the Rochestown Road, Cork from the Finger Post roundabout at Douglas, the section of road between the roundabout at Lidl, Carrigaline, and the traffic lights intersection to Ringaskiddy; the 5km to the south west of Drimoleague on the main road to Bantry, and a section of road from Durrus approaching the main Cork-Bantry road. Three months later, nothing has been done, yet when a large section of road disappeared on a mountainside in Japan after an earthquake it was rebuilt within a week. I live in hope.
