Thanks ... for nothing

OVER the last 10-12 weeks I have been clocking up the miles running across various areas in the city, in preparation for the Cork City Marathon on June 6.

Thanks ... for nothing

With “tongue firmly entrenched in cheek” there are several people I would like to thank who make my training more pleasurable.

To all the dog owners who think its still acceptable to allow their dogs defecate along our cities footpaths/walkways and leave it there for me and other users to step on and bring it back to our homes, I thank you. To all motorists who choose to discard their lunch wrappers and coffee cups out of their vehicles to enhance the scenery along my route, I thank you.

And, finally, my biggest thank you goes to the mindless act of vandalism right opposite your very own offices, when on a beautiful Sunday morning I was greeted with the freshly planted flower bed ripped out and thrown all over the path outside the Office of the Harbour Commissioners, indeed a very special thank you.
