Quinn deserves our presidential support

THE recommendation, by John Herriott (April 23), that the people of Cavan should nominate Sean Quinn for the position of president is excellent.

I would take that one step further and call on the local authorities of Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Longford, Donegal, Sligo, Louth, Dublin and Cork to recognise Sean Quinn’s unique Irish achievement, in creating 8,000 jobs, by contacting him immediately with the offer of supporting him should he choose to put himself forward for the position of President of Ireland.

Even if Sean Quinn has no interest in the presidency, there has to be a first time when a prophet is seen to be appreciated among his own.
