I WAS consistently disappointed by how little interest trade unions had in workers at the lower end of the scale during my time in employment.

They consistently took the easy option of percentage raises in wages for those in their “care”.

Executive staff getting the large slice of the loaf leaving other employees lagging behind leaving that awful big gap in the take home cheque. It was very unjust. Lack of consideration by those union officials who undoubtedly had a very good salary themselves cared little about the poorer section of workers who paid the same union fee.
