THE recent and very positive statements by the Taoiseach and the Minister for Health around the provision of facilities for people with cystic fibrosis (PWCF) and organ transplantation are enthusiastically welcomed by Build4Life/Cystic Fibrosis.

The extensive requests for information by the government from all hospitals that treat PWCF to ascertain the level of facilities and staffing, indicates that there is genuine commitment to address an appalling situation that unfortunately has been left largely unaddressed for far too long.

I am very hopeful that we are entering an era of positivity where the government will work with PWCF and Build4Life/Cystic Fibrosis to develop the facilities that will deliver the required level of care for our condition.
