Setting the agenda in the Middle East

UNDER the heading “Don’t let Libya set the agenda” the deputy ambassador at the Embassy of Israel has made some questionable statements.

Having lived and worked in Israel and many of the neighbouring countries over a 32-year period, I can say the mention of a “democratic Israel” is interesting when more that 20% of its nationals are denied many rights available to the other 80%.

It seems to me that the “agenda” set in the Middle East has for an extended period of time been set by the government of Israel.
