New Dáil politicians fail to dress to impress
Garish casual pink shirts, black jeans, pseudo military garb and flat caps from gombeen central casting are just some of the eyesores on conspicuous display. This is a totally disrespectful attitude to the dignity conferred by the holding of high office and, once again, makes Ireland a laughing stock.
I know I will be accused of being old-fashioned and out of touch but I don’t think there is anything old-fashioned about striving for better standards and professionalism.
Ireland needs to be recognised as such internationally, especially at this time in its history, and how can this happen if the very people the world sees let us down like this?
