Does Europe care who gets into power? You bet they do

THERE is a sense of the EU holding its breath until the Irish elections are over.

The European Commission feels restrained from saying what it means as it does not want to be accused of weighing in to support one party or the other during the campaign.

In fact Commissioner Olli Rehn has been Finnishly scrupulous in trying to keep EU politics out of the election by restating the terms of the EU/IMF loan agreement.
