Where does FG stand on mass incineration?

AS 30,000 objectors in Cork, along with their democratically elected county council, near the tenth anniversary of their struggle against toxic incineration in Cork Harbour, we are alarmed to find no mention of incineration in the Fine Gael manifesto.

Where does FG stand on mass incineration?

We have made numerous phone calls to candidates and to head office to get clarification and receive no response.

The argument against this out-dated, destructive and poison-emitting practice has been won in many forums, including those at TCD, UCD and at An Bord Pleanala hearings. It was ruled out in our County Development Plan. Yet inspectors’ recommendations have been overturned and the democratically expressed will of our people has been ignored. Fine Gael say that they wish to position Ireland as a “world leader in agri-food”. We share this wish wholeheartedly.
