Fighting at the trough

A READY metaphor for our country would be a very large pig’s trough resting on the back of a very weary population.

In it, are all the privileged national pigs that feed off their efforts. The pigs have no intention of changing anything other than to jockey for a better place within the trough. It would be foolish to expect that an articulate “Ireland First” movement will ever come from within the trough and without that nothing can change in our country irrespective of who we vote for and put into the trough.
