Are FF shenanigans merely a smokescreen?
We all love an election, an election of any kind. It’s spectator sport for us and we relish one as we would an international at Twickenham.
It’s not beyond the realms of credibility to suggest that a party that has lost so much support nationally and a Taoiseach whose popularity ratings would equal that of Oliver Cromwell wouldn't resort to a little skullduggery to keep the name of Fianna Fáil before the public. Deception wouldn’t be new to them.
The gesturing and jestering that went on before the vote, the to-ing and fro-ing, the would she could/she, the will he/won’t he, only went to cement the outrageous theory that the whole charade was choreographed from within by the master of the smoke screen, you-know-who. Predictably, nothing significant changed.
