Time to ban car advertising

WITH the season for buying new cars upon us, we are being bombarded with an irritating endless stream of television and radio car adverts.

They are completely interchangeable and rely on invoking envy, jealously and sex, and hedonistic pleasure; they are simply a form of brainwashing and don’t give any practical information.

We would all benefit from banning car adverts; if tobacco advertising can be banned, why not cars, which kill far more innocent people?
