We could all learn from brave Colm

I WRITE in praise of Colm Murray’s interview on last Friday’s Late Late Show.

We could all learn from brave Colm

Contrary to his reserved persona while broadcasting the sport’s bulletin on TV, Colm spoke so eloquently with such honesty, with such feeling and passion regarding his illness, motor neuron disease. One could only feel for him as he recounted the effects of developing this illness had on him, his dear wife and daughters and the ‘‘dark time’’ he went through personally and his fear of its effect on his life.

I am inspired by Colm Murray’s determination to fight another day and make the most of life not knowing what tomorrow brings. If Ireland, as we know it today, is to recover and rebuild itself we could all learn from Colm’s will to live.
