Golden circle continues in bank bonus fiasco

I UNDERSTAND that post-bailout, all bank bonuses are suspended so why is Brian Lenihan telling us that future bonuses are to be taxed at 90%?

Surely, there are no future bonuses, at least not while the Government remains the major stakeholder in AIB?

Lenihan should have known that AIB was being pursued in the courts for pre-bailout bonuses, so why did he not bring in the super-tax legislation in good time to catch this last grand slam for the cohort who beggared the country and recoup something for the taxpayer? It is truly extraordinary.

He is either bluffing us with his usual panache or he is oblivious of the bailout terms regarding bonuses.

Either way, he merits his rating at the bottom of the European Finance Ministers league table. Lenihan and Brian Cowen continue to look after the golden circle and show their contempt for the electorate by trotting out lines like the fore-mentioned.
