Life on the streets a real struggle for survival
He spoke of how he had literally lost everything, his wife, his job, his family and told of how he struggled to survive.
He was a very genuine man who spoke plainly about the many nights he spent on the streets of Dublin. He told Brendan O’Connor how he used to tuck his trousers into his socks to stop rats running up his legs. His interview was very humbling and his story puts the lives of many into perspective.
Many people have been complaining about how they will receive €8 less a week from the Government after the budget.
This man had nothing and he got on with it so maybe we should all consider how lucky we are to even have a roof over our heads.
He said it would make his Christmas if everyone could buy a pair of gloves or a hat and drop it in to one of the Simon Community’s centres in Dublin.
His plea to the Irish people is in stark contrast to the Irish people’s plea to the Government for more money.
