Please leave my favourite TD alone

ON behalf of the many sensible of Ireland, I want to congratulate the Kerry-South constituency on your continued support for Jackie Healy Rae.

A true statesman and much celebrated spokesperson for the marginalised in Ireland, it is a shame that some jealous begrudgers have made it their mission to try and tarnish his otherwise, magnanimous record.

I sit and wonder what would this country be like if there was a TD like Mr Healy Rae in every constituency. But alas, I can only dream. Think of the motorways between every small parish. Think of the hospitals sprouting up in every valley. Think of the smile on the face of our new friend Mr Chopra when he sees our ‘stimulus packages’ building bypasses around every village in the State.
