Cowen must put the country first and go

A plea to An Taoiseach, What does it take for you to get the message.

In the interest of this country please go.

Polls after polls have shown you are no longer wanted as a Toaiseach of this country or Leader of Fianna Fail. The way you are clinging on to power is absolutely nauseating and undignified.

You and your colleagues in government are forever coming out with such cliches as,’in the interest of the country’ and ‘we have had to take tough decisions’ as reasons for your unpopularity. No, your problem is quite simple. You are not a leader. You are incapable of bringing the country with you and your communication skills are dismal.

For once, put your country first and go — today. The longer you put off this decision the worst it gets for Fianna Fáil and the people of Ireland

Please do not use the Budget next week as a reason for holding on to power — we will manage without you and Fianna Fáil.
