Road gritting proposal

THE county councils should open talks with the Agricultural Contractors association into getting prices for putting grit on bye roads and housing estates to allow people to get to work.

Agricultural contractors should be asked to give a price to spread a load of grit or salt and be allocated certain areas as to have a plan in place.

Often this work will be done cheaper than the councils own staff can do it and with a lot more speed because of staff shortage on road works.
