Blame game

DAY after day, I read letters, articles and lengthy columns in newspapers describing the economic mess we are in and pointing out what should have been done to avert or minimise it.

But where were these ‘experts’ when the Celtic Tiger was roaring majestically across the country. All the economic experts and newspaper columnists have one great weapon in their arsenal – hindsight.

They can flawlessly point out where we went wrong, but when things were good and money was rolling in, these so-called experts had no warning to give us, no indication of what lay in store.
