Anti-Catholic smear

IN response to Dick Keane (Letters, October 30), what on earth is “right-wing” or indeed “Catholic” about a religious fanatic who allegedly supported the High Court case which supposedly prevented the HSE from doing its duty and taking children out of a situation in which they were being horribly abused in Roscommon?

Anti-Catholic smear

I am disgusted by the case, but I am also disgusted by Mr Keane’s attempt to use such a tragic case in a misguided anti-Catholic smear.

It is clear that, yet again, the state failed in its duty to protect children who were obviously being abused. How could anyone who knew what was going on not have acted to prevent it? This had nothing whatsoever to do with Catholicism – fundamentalist or otherwise.
