‘Tina’ finds willing accomplices here

BACK in the dark 1980s, Margaret Thatcher became known as ‘Tina’ because of her repeated insistence that ‘There Is No Alternative’.

Thankfully, she’s yesterday’s woman. But horror of horrors, Tina’s acolytes are now running this country and most of the media – most notably, RTÉ.

My ears have begun to hurt from the repeated chanting of their mantra – ‘There is no alternative’ – no alternative to the wrecking of our public services and casting into the financial abyss people in no position to take the hit.
