How to avoid need for college fees: attract more foreign students to Irish universities

I WISH strongly to endorse the proposal to increase the number of international students in Irish universities.

The proposed new visa regime will facilitate larger numbers of students who wish to travel to Ireland to complete their higher level education.

Irish universities and institutes of technology should be promoting their courses at education fairs in universities across the world to showcase Ireland’s centres of educational excellence.

When international students enjoy positive experiences in Irish universities this message will be relayed to other prospective students and other interested partner universities.

Encouraging more international students to study in Ireland would have a snowball effect with regard to creating much needed funds for cash-strapped universities and decrease the possibility of the reintroduction of fees for Irish students.
