No to dictatorship

WE have a country that has been brought to the brink of bankruptcy because a small number of people at the head of government, banks and building became virtually untouchable.

Yet we have columnists like Ivan Yates (September 30) calling for a national government.

A national government without an opposition would be a dictatorship. If the hubris of people who thought themselves untouchable has damaged the country so much in the past, imagine what a national government with no opposition would do.
