‘Yollies’ hold the key to our economic future
The EU is faced with a challenging post-depression scenario. Now is the time for yollies to penetrate the market in terms of cutting edge technology, design and, most importantly, R&D.
Yollies have been identified as new firms (or entrepreneurs) incorporated after 1975 that have become worldwide success stories over a short period due to their creative R&D efforts.
The EU provides a gateway of opportunity for Irish yollies. The first step for any growing company is the EU internal market and then the worldwide market.
Europe needs leading young innovators and no better country to provide them than Ireland. We may be a small country on the periphery of Europe but we know how to succeed on an international platform. Biotechnology is a key area that could be targeted for R&D. Investment in firms that prioritise R&D is certain to get results.
