Funny dynasty

I THINK we should have a national poll to find the funniest Lenihan family joke.

Was it Brian senior in the 1980s saying “we can’t all live here on this small island”? He was a senior minister who seemed to think we were densely populated when in fact we were the least densely populated in the EU. How they laughed in Cricklewood.

Then there was Mary O’Rourke’s advice to everyone to gamble on Eircom shares. I know pensioners who are still laughing at that one.

Then young Brian, the smartest of them all, said he’d accomplished “the cheapest bank bailout in the world”.

I’m still getting the odd chuckle when that comes to mind. And who needs Fr Ted when you have Conor Lenihan, Minister of Science, wanting to launch an anti-evolution book?
