THE World Food Programme has had to suspend food aid to children over the age of two in Niger despite the high malnutrition rate for this age group.

Millions of people are at risk of starving because of a shortfall of €75 million in funding. Recently the Government ploughed another €10bn into the zombie that is Anglo Irish Bank. This exercise is being repeated by other western countries.

But rest assured, we are told it’s to restore stability and growth to the economic system. I’m just curious as to where the good of the people comes into it?
