Wrong priorities
I work as a GP in a deprived part of Limerick city. It appalls me that while the services to our most needy are being slashed, our leaders are proposing to spend approximately an entire year’s tax-take on paying back failed investors in Anglo Irish Bank. It was once described by a Wall Street analyst as “a building society on crack” (cocaine) and anyone taking such high risks with their money should be prepared to lose the wager, as well as pocket the gains if they won.
