Massive debt putting our sovereignty at risk
The latest opinion poll on the leaders of the three main political parties delivers a message of no confidence in all three leaders and their parties. Patriotism, leadership and principle, that puts the country and people first is neither evident nor visible from the overwhelming membership of all three major political parties. The people are extremely angry with the mismanagement of the finances of state, the lack of supervision of the banks and the underwriting of their reckless lending to property developers. The main two Irish banks have had a dismal and questionable record of error prone dealings, mostly in their own favour, when dealing with customers over several decades.
The massive burden of national debt and the cost of servicing it raises serious questions over the capability of any format of the current Dáil political parties, being capable to manage the affairs of this State. Our sovereignty is now under immense pressure due to the unprecedented debt level. Real change that will benefit the people and ease their burden is not in the gift of the next Government who ever it will be.
