Who’s who in the royal Dublin procession

YOUR issue of June 25 carried a large photograph purporting to be Queen Victoria passing through Dublin in 1853.

Who’s who in the royal Dublin procession

The photograph is actually that of her successor and eldest son, King Edward VII, and his queen consort, Alexandra, during their state visit in 1903.

He is the gentleman centre photo in the top hat, the lady next to him being the queen. This episode was dramatised on Strumpet City with Peter Ustinov playing the king.
