Waterford Glass - A tradition restored

IT is wonderful that Waterford Crystal yesterday returned to centre stage in the city it defined for so many generations.

Though production is on a small scale it is an act of defiance and optimism that deserves to succeed.

It would have been unthinkable that the great glass blowing and cutting skills, as well as the artistry built up over centuries, should have disappeared when the parent plant finally closed last year.
