Man for our times

I WOULD like to see Dr Chris Luke of Cork University Hospital run for the Dáil. During the head shops controversy, he was outspoken in his efforts to inform people of the deadly effects of the products being peddled to our youth.

Every word he spoke showed a heartfelt concern for the welfare of those who take these destructive substances and for the medical staff who care for them in A&E units.

Dr Luke’s concerns are most sincere and it is men like him our country needs in the corridors of power. Imagine what someone who puts people before politics could do for the future health of the nation. Maybe he and George Lee could put their heads together and combine their ideas to form a new party that would would challenge the status quo for all the right reasons.
