Kick Israel out of the OECD – and Eurovision

IN response to Israel’s brutal attack on peace activists on the Gaza aid flotilla in the Mediterranean, their murdering of civilians, their piracy on the high seas, their kidnapping of civilians, forcing them to enter Israel against their will and detaining them there like criminals, I make the following proposals:

* That Israel be removed from the OECD to which it was recently admitted, boasting afterwards that any one nation, including Ireland, could have vetoed the decision to allow it to join.

* Stop all arms and munitions trade between Ireland and Israel.

* Remove Israel’s trade privileges under the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement, recalling that article two of that agreement states: “Relations between the parties, as well as all the provisions of the agreement itself, shall be based on respect for human rights and democratic principles, which guides their internal and international policy and constitutes an essential element of this agreement.”

* Urge the USA to stop all financial and arms aid to Israel while it remains in defiance of UN resolutions, while it continues to occupy Palestine, while it denies human rights to Palestinians, while it maintains its blockade of Gaza and while it murders peace activists both within Israel and now in international waters.

* Petition the removal of Israel from the Eurovision Song Contest.

* Boycott Israeli produce.

* Expel the Israeli ambassador from Ireland.
