Porn and violence link

IN the article “Pornography: Is it bad for us?” (May 11), Milton Diamond states that no evidence has been documented linking sexually explicit material (SEM) and sex crimes.

Mr Diamond would do well to research his facts as, had he done so, he would have discovered an equal amount of studies linking SEM and sex crimes as not. A statement such as “sexually explicit materials have been documented to be good for society” is not only ludicrous but equally unsupported. With the majority of porn consumers being men and the majority victims of sexual violence being women, there are many questions raised and it is worth doing the research to answer them.
