Ahern ‘does a Johnny Cash’ on the gardaí
Justice Minister Dermot Ahern chose to snipe from the safety of the government benches and make Johnny Cash noises about crossing the line, yet he hadn’t the courage to face the assembled gardaí. Like a petulant child, he huffed and refused to play.
We have all had enough of fat-cat pensions and salaries, of bankers wrecking the country and walking away with pensions that would keep a small state in business.
Ordinary gardaí risk their lives every day to protect the citizens of this beggared state. But now the Government spin is to suggest that by stating their anger and discontent they were somehow taking a step too far.
Meanwhile, rogue bankers and developers hide abroad, having betrayed the trust of their country. Let Dermot Ahern serve up a couple of extradition warrants instead of castigating the gardaí. Or would there be something “unconstitutional” in doing that?
