Ideal chance to bury the harbour problem

I READ Peter Levy’s excellent column on the Tall Ship’s race (Examiner County, April 20).

It may interest him to know Bord Gáis is laying a sub-sea high-voltage cable from their new Whitegate power station across Cork harbour to Ringaskiddy in the near future.

If there was joined-up thinking in government, the ESB could of course tie in their present overhead cable with the Bord Gáis sub-sea cable.

This would enable the ESB to remove their overhead lines from Cobh to Monkstown, allowing all Tall Ships to navigate up to the city quays.
