EU leaders we could have done without
In my opinion, it’s an honour we could have done without. An Icelandic volcano creates a transport crisis in a large number of EU countries and the EU president, as well as the baroness-high representative, seem to have got lost in the fog. Both were elected by politicians for politicians and certainly not for the people of the European fiefdom.
The prime minister of Estonia made an 18-hour car journey to attend the funeral of Polish President Lech Kacyzynski, but apparently the president of the EU (who is Belgian) couldn’t make that gruelling journey as a representative of all those sympathising with the Polish people on the recent tragedy in Smolensk.
