I BET many of your readers do not know that Government ministers have the “Gospel of Luke” as their bedtime reading.

They are particularly captivated by chapter 19, verse 26 in the recently-produced ecumenical version: “I tell you, to all those who have, more will be given; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.”
