Chinese New Year bash staged in a graveyard

YOUR front page (February 15) featured a prominent picture of the Chinese New Year celebrations at a central Dublin location.

What went unmentioned, however, was that the Dublin City Council venue, namely, Wolfe Tone Park, is in fact the site of St Mary’s, an old Christian graveyard of some historical significance.

Perhaps on reflection we might model ourselves more on the Chinese who view their ancestors with real respect. Heritage matters.
