Begging menace

I AM delighted to see the Government has introduced new legislation to address the scourge of begging in this country.

Every day we see bankers and builders loitering around the Department of Finance and the National Treasury Management Agency, cap in hand annoying passers by.

They demand cash, implying that if we do not offer them charity the whole economic structure of the country will be in danger.
